Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could only see ourselves the way God sees us? Unfortunately, there are so many voices around us and inside us that make us feel worthless and powerless.
It’s time we break all the crooked mirrors and look into the one true mirror, the mirror of God’s Word. This is the only way we will be able to reflect the glory of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18).

During World War II, there was an elderly woman in England who endured many nerve-shattering bombings with amazing serenity.
When asked to give the secret of her calmness amid the terror and danger, she replied, “Well, every night I say my prayers. And then I remember that God is always watching, so I go peacefully to sleep. After all, there is no need for both of us to stay awake!”
I hope that seeing this image and declaring these words will calm many anxious minds and help many little girls find sweet rest.
LIGHT
You, God, turn the darkness around me into light. // Psalm 18:28
Sometimes this world can be a dark, cold, and lonely place.
This artwork could make a great postcard bringing the message of hope and comfort to a little girl dealing with grief.
This image reminds me of two “little“ girls in the Bible — Mary and Martha.
Their brother got sick. They sent for Jesus. They knew He would come and save the day.
He didn’t.
Their brother died. Their dreams were shattered. Their world became dark.
But that wasn’t the end of their story.
Eventually, Jesus did show up, chased away the darkness, robbed the grave, and turned their mourning into dancing.
Just like He will show up in the life of each of His daughters (in His time), and turn their darkness into light.
SALVATION
The Lord is my light and my salvation — so why should I be afraid? // Psalm 27:1
I love this verse and have personally experienced its power on many occasions — sitting in a dentist's chair, walking through dark alleys of a big city after midnight, housesitting a big spooky house during a storm.
Whenever I get scared, I reach for this verse. I speak it to myself—sometimes in a whisper, sometimes in a loud voice—and it never fails to steady me.
I have no doubt, that these words have the power to awaken a warrior within each little girl who is afraid.
Frame and hang this image where your little girl can see and read it. May it become her battle cry as she steps forward to face her fears.
VOICE
Don’t let the noise of the world keep you from hearing the voice of the Lord.
In today’s environment of media bombardment, it has become increasingly difficult to find time to be quiet, to think, and to pray.
